AI Assistant — the basics
What it does, what it doesn't, and how to get the best answers.
The AI Assistant is a natural-language layer across your Lenavio workspace. Every answer respects the permissions of the person asking.
What you can ask
Good questions are specific, bounded, and about data the assistant can actually see:
- "Who's been out more than 5 days this quarter?"
- "Draft a PIP for Alex referencing his last three reviews."
- "Summarize open complaint cases by department."
- "Which managers approved overtime three weeks running?"
What it won't do
- Take adverse employment actions (terminations, demotions, denials)
- Change compensation, title, or status
- Close a complaint case or approve a leave request
- Access data outside your role's visibility
Getting better answers
- Be specific. "last quarter" beats "recently".
- Give context. If you're drafting a doc, paste the skeleton — the assistant edits better than it generates cold.
- Review sources. Every answer shows the underlying query and rows. Click through before acting.
Audit
Every prompt and response is logged in Settings → AI → Audit Log. Retention defaults to 90 days, configurable per tenant. Logs are never used to train external models.
